A member of the carrot family, The presence of pepper saxifrage is a good indicator of agriculturally unimproved meadows. Carnivorous soldier beetles use the flat flower heads to await their favoured prey of soft bodied insects.
How to identify: Pepper saxifrage is a medium umbellifer with clusters of fine, cream or yellow flowers. It has small, branched, pinnate leaves with two to four leaflets.
How to propagate: Propagate by sowing seed in spring in a cold frame. Plant out in early-summer or when large enough.
