golden delicious

Picture
Description

The most widely planted apple in the main fruit growing areas of the world, this was found as a chance seedling by A.H. Mullins in West Viriginia, U.S.A. in 1890. The golden yellow fruit are sweet and refreshing, but not as strongly flavoured as some. The main problem is that it needs high temperatures and plenty of sun, so is really only suitable for a very sheltered spot in the South of the country.
