Description
It is a perennial creeping plant rooting at the nodes. At Long Mead we have the aquatic forms. Flowers are deep pink in short, dense broad and often solitary spikes.
How to identify: In flower, the stamens protrude beyond the tepals. Often several flower heads per stem. Leaves can be black-blotched and truncate to cordate at base.
How to propagate: Propagate by cuttings, but can also be grown from seed sown on moist soil.
